The Firebox X Peak brings more networking features 
to the WatchGuard range with Quality of Service (Qos), Multi Wan Failover (for multiple ISP connections), load sharing, SNMP manageability, Dynamic Routing, High Availability, Denial of Service (DoS and DDoS) protection available out of the box.
Gateway Anti Virus and signature based Intrusion Prevention Services complement WatchGuard's Intelligent Layered Security (ILS) architecture are available as optional upgrades.

Like the Firebox X Core, each Peak model is upgradeable three ways:
- Model upgradeability -
enables you to upgrade your existing Firebox X Peak appliance with a simple license key. No hardware swaps or software re-configuration required! For example, upgrade a Peak X5000 to an X6000 with a license key. - Service expandability -
add additional security services to your existing Firebox Peak appliance, like the WebBlocker web filter, Gateway AntiVirus and Intrusion Prevention Service. - Feature upgrades -
upgrade your Firebox X Peak with mobile user VPN clients, and additional device licenses for the WatchGuard System Manager just as you would with a Core appliance.
