Where permanent 'always on' Internet
connections are employed, such as Broadband ADSL or Leased Circuits, there should always be a firewall in place to control inbound (hacking), and outbound access (Trojans, for example).
Our security solutions have been chosen for their ability to provide clients of any size with an answer to a specific security issue. These include Firewall solutions such as the WatchGuard firewalls to control say, " Control Key was the first expert level WatchGuard Secure Partner in the UK " SMTP email only to one specific internal server or Citrix to a group of servers. However Firewalls can also control outbound access to say, a specific group of users having access to file sharing applications like Kazaa.
Firewalls are a powerful solution for preventing unauthorised access on to a network, but in some instances it is desirable to allow access to a network from your connection to the public Internet. A secure method of achieving this is by using a Virtual Private Network (VPN). A VPN creates an encrypted tunnel across the Internet from one point to another. While one point will be your firewall with VPN support, the other might be another firewall or a remote user's computer.
The installation and configuration of Firewall security and VPNs is a key part of Control Key's work. Once installed, we can also manage the administration of the security policy remotely.
