Control Key was formed in 
June 1999 by IT professionals to create a Technically Focused IT network and network security business. Our growth, in terms of sales and client base has been organic and sustainable. The majority of this growth has come through the supply of key hardware and software products, and from the implementation of projects and support services to national and international organisations.
Our customers come from the private and public sectors, and include Everton Football Club, Southport and Ormskirk NHS, North East Lincolnshire Care Trust Plus, iQor, and Colormatrix.
. . . . Proven network solutions
In May 2007, Control Key moved premises from The Old Barn in Ribchester, where the Proof of Concept Suite (PCS) was initiated, to the Blackburn Technology Management Centre. The move has given us more space in which to grow, while remaining within the North West.

Control Key specialises in hands-on LAN, WAN and VPN development, application serving, Internet connectivity and security, email and messaging systems, thin client technologies and Microsoft server solutions. Rather than focusing on "box shifting" hardware and software solutions, we have always focused on being able to physically and logically implement the solutions that we propose.

Control Key ensures that members of staff know not just how to install and configure hardware and software, but also the benefits and pitfalls of its use. This way Control Key is able to maintain a depth of knowledge through its staff, and retain its technical focus.

Based in the North West, Control Key has implemented systems all over the UK, including many multi site networks. Links between sites such as Leased Circuits, MPLS and ADSL can all be sourced through Control Key, giving the end user site the option of a single source of purchasing.
